Tips for creating a Business Facebook page?

Hello, my brothers and dad are starting a BBQ catering business and I'm in charge of marketing and social media. I only have experience on the personal side of FB and marketing on a personal and social level. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!

First and foremost, don't plan on using the Facebook page as your "end all be all" of social media marketing. The success you'd have on Instagram by posting pictures and videos of delicious BBQ and awesome catering setups is almost a guarantee, so I would be focusing my time and attention on that channel. But, by all means, don't ignore FB, even with all of the noise about lack of organic reach and their impending legal battles over data handling. Don't get me wrong, FB from a business perspective has been a disaster these last few months, especially recently, but there is still a ton of value, especially if you have a little budget to throw behind some smaller campaigns. Start small, build organically through family and friends, hammer away Instagram with pictures and videos, and get a feel for what your audience reacts to. The worst thing you can do is make a hard-line decision right out of the gates and slap the blinders on. Test, test, test. Your audience will tell you how they want to be marketed to. Good luck, hope it works out!

Here's a tip: DON'T. You'll only waste time & effort. Here's why: Facebook Overhauls News Feed in Favor of Meaningful Interactions The Publications That Have Most to Lose from Facebooks New Algorithm Facebook Is Making It Harder to Reach Audiences Without Paying And as a side effect of this famous scandal, Facebook is prioritizing local news now. Although it's not related to your line of business (BBQ != News), the thing I'm trying to point out here is how fragile FB is when it comes to trusting your business to it nowadays. For example, Chatbots got temporarily banned just because of the scandal I just mentioned above. All because Zuckerberg is now conducting an investigation on all Apps running on Facebook. That's just one bad Domino effect. Who knows what is coming next when a company such as Facebook is doing some shady things behind the scenes.

Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat are going to be better platforms than Facebook in my opinion but whatever you choose, I recommend taking hootsuites social media marketing courses. It takes a bit of time but theyre thorough and youll learn all the options for business pages you never knew you had.

Facebook has undergone a lot of changes making it very hard to build Pages from scratch. Lots of news on this topic can be of help.
