Local SEO design elements checklist

I'm trying to establish best practices when I ask my designers for web page mockups for our clients. Was wondering if anyone had a good check lists for elements to include in those designs?

Right now I have: - Header: Name address and phone). - Slider with a call to action - Below that, some text content with relevant keywords - Below that, some more content - Then some nicely designed elements containing internal links that highlight what the company does, for example "Teeth Whitening" - Below that, Testimonials slider - Then below that, Google maps and a Google Office tour - Below that, Contact Form, with office hours next to it. - Then in the footer, Name address and phone, sitemap and privacy policy links.

These are just html elements of course, I the meta information and structured data is all there behind the scenes.

What other things should I be including on my homepages? Anyone have a good check list?

Thanks! :)

Layout seems fine. I would just stress not to put anything in the slider that you think it is important for search engines to read because they likely won't read it.

Okay, at the top in the header should be a clickable domain email address and clickable business phone number. These should be placed in a sticky header, along with the navbar so that they are always on screen. This is especially important important on mobile. Also, if you are designing for a service area business, make sure that the following is visible on both desktop and mobile BEFORE a visitor has to scroll: who they are (logo), what they do, where they do it, and how to reach them (clickable). These have been working very well for me with my clients.

Here's some formatting for you: Header: Name address and phone. Slider: with a call to action and, below that, some text content with relevant keywords. Below that, some more content. Elements: Then some nicely designed elements containing internal links that highlight what the company does, for example "Teeth Whitening." Testimonials Slider Map: Below the testimonials, Google maps and a Google Office tour. Contact Form: with office hours next to it. Footer: In the footer, Name address and phone, sitemap and privacy policy links. Personally, I think the homepage of every website should also say: Who you are, What you do, How you can help your clients, Why you do what you do, and What separates you from your competition. Each element should be clear and concise.

Great list. Did you consider adding links to social media and public review sites (preferably industy specific ones) for profiles with the local NAP?
