Any tips for similar content on E-commerce

So my e-commerce site sells products for lots of motorbikes, I've arrange the categories by product type, bike make then model e.g Screen, Suzuki, GSX-R600, Flip Screen, as I felt this was the easiest way to categorize the huge variation of bikes.

The concern I have is when you get to the individual product page the description is going to be similar for multiple products (as its the same product but just for a different bike), is Google going to penalize my site because of this?

Thanks for the reply, I've got canonical on my products so I'm glad I'm on the right track!

Look up schema.org and related material.

One thought I'd to make all product pages canonical to their category and focus there. You really can't do much to differentiate between products that have very minor differences.
